Modern Warfare 3 Prestige Shop Video
When you reach the 80th level and go on to Prestige in Modern Warfare 3 – up to 10 max – you’ll be rewarded with a token that you get to spend in the new Prestige Shop. You can save up your tokens when you Prestige, or spend them on any one of a number of Prestige Rewards. There are eight Prestige Rewards to choose from in the shop, including your regular ‘extra custom class’ slot, and a small bucket load of new stuff; double XP for 2 hours, double weapon XP, regular package, unlock gear – which allows you to take one weapon with you through to the next Prestige, hardened package, veteran package and reset all stats.
Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling briefs us on Modern Warfare 3′s Prestige Shop in the video below, but fails to explain what some of the less obvious rewards are, like the regular, hardened and veteran packages. Guess we’ll have to wait until shortly after launch for that info (this post will be updated as soon as the details are confirmed.) Bowling does reveal that those who prestiged in Black Ops, Modern Warfare 2, World at War or CoD 4 will be gifted a Prestige Token, though. Handy!
Also, for the first time in the franchises history, there will be a double XP weekend across multiple Call of Duty games. Both Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops will get DXP on the weekend of October 27th to give those who need it a leg-up.

and it would be better if they gave you the extra class and gave you a token to buy something. if you use the token to buy the class your just paying for something that was free in black ops and mw2. gay…

what are you talkin about? that has nothing to do with what im saying. in mw2 and black ops if you prestiged you automaticaly got extra classes. now unless you waste your token on it than you dont get it. you should get classes free like befor and then use your token on something else. i dont see how this will want to make anyone want to prestige.

It makes the game a bit more versatile, if you want those classes unlocked at certain prestiges, like the other games, then just use the token to do so, and then the prestiges inbetween those are bonus stuff that you didn’t get from any other cod. But someone like myself would prefer to get those 5 extra custom classes in the first five prestiges. This is a much better system, gives you more options.

With this system you get all of your custom classes EARLIER than you would if the system was like all other CoDs.
Also, if you prestiged in Cod4, WaW, MW2, or Black Ops, you can buy all 5 custom classes after your prestige one time.
The advantages are pretty obvious.

Its only 1 more prestige than black ops (I got this from doing 80×10=800, obviously and 50×15=750 which also equals in ‘Black Ops’ levels is only one more prestige, you’ll survive.

How did you “not really” prestige. If you prestiged at least once, you’re good, you get your tokens for each game. If you didn’t? Out of luck unless you hop on those games and prestige (I’m sure you’re sitting at the max rank). But all it’s for is extra prestige stuff in MW3, and if you didn’t care about extra crap enough to prestige in previous CoD games then why does missing out on stuff in MW3 even matter to you?

Oooh I understood this completely wrong, I thought that if you prestige just through the time that there giving you to do this(October 27th) that you would get the token, not that if you already have pristiged before, in either game you get the token. Sorry guys for misleading you or something. =D

guys. watch the video carefully. if you prestiged in any of the games at least once you will start mw3 with one token for each game you did it. example, i prestiged twice in mw, 3 times in WaW, 4 times in mw2 and 4 times in blops. regardless i will only get one token per game. 4 tokens when mw3 comes out. ps – you dont have to prestige this weekend. any game you prestiged on up until mw3′s release will earn you a token regardless of when you accomplished it.

What I keep reading says its unlocked permanently but in the video he clearly states “through the rest of the prestige level”. So which is it, just that level or for the rest of the game?!?!

if you bother to read fouzerotwo’s twitter you would know that once you unlock a gun with unlock gear you keep it forever. for example lets say you unlock the mp7(which you get at level 74)you will never have to unlock it again. even if you prestiege 10 times

i kind of agree and disagree about the custom class, yes you should get it when you prestige but also if you have played the other 3 COD’s then you have 3 tokens already to spend and so when you prestige in MW3 you will get 10 tokens to use on what you like.. ie i know i will use it to unlock my fav gun and keep it carrying through..

I’ve prestiged in COD 4 MW and Black Ops but when ever I prestige in MW3 I only get one token. the card on my player card says I haven’t presiged In COD4, a prestige behind in black ops and says I haven’t even played MW2. my buddy gets 5 tokens when he prestiges in MW3. I’m getting screwed, how do I fix it???

why are a lot of people complaining about this changes in MW3?.. I mean regardless of the few changes MW3 it’s an awesome game..I am NOT a great player, BUT I do enjoy winning and loosing and people should leave it at that..if you don’t like the new changes…..then don’t play it.
