Modern Warfare 3 Killstreaks, Point Streaks, Strike Packages
Modern Warfare 3′s new Point Streak system awards Killstreaks based on many different in-game actions instead of just stringing together kills. Plants, defuses, captures, defends, kills, assists etc etc all count towards earning your killstreak rewards.
Another change to the Point / Killstreak system is that rewards are now seperated in to three sections, or “Strike Packages”, of which you pick a Strike Package and three of the rewards from that package for each loadout. The three Strike Packages on offer are Assault, Support and Specialist, each of which offers unique rewards.
The Specialist Strike Package, however, gives you additional Perks for racking up points / kills. You get a new Perk for every 2 kills, get 8 kills and you will have all 14 of the below Perks active (you don’t get Overkill). Die, and you lose them. The Assault and Support Strike Packages award you the “traditional” Killstreak Rewards.
If you choose the Support Strike Package your points don’t reset when you die. Respawn and continue with the same points that you’ve built up.

I know this was put up several months ago but I use the specialist package quite often and do not camp…I am not saying that I never camp at all but when I am running specialist I do not camp at all.

yes, you can have all your normal perks with pro upgrade on them, its just saying that when you set a perk to pointstreak 1,2 andd 3 you dont just get the normal perk you get it pro… does that make any sense?

No no no,
I believe what Specialist does is that it gives you the ability to run 4,5,6 or all perks.
You can still select whichever 3 you normally would (including their pro version if unlocked) but I think it will go like this
If you choose specialist Strike Package it will show a list of Perks and you will pick which one you want for a 2 Point streak, which for a 4, and which for a 6. Then once you get the 8th kill it unlocks all perks for you to use. You don’t only get to use your unlocked Pro perks under specialist, but any and all will be available.

No u r all gettin it wrong u hav ur class and its perks that is permanent but when u select specialist it comes up with a list of perks u choose 3 then u start the match with ur classes perks then wen u gt 2 point streak u gt 1 of ur selected perks then when u r on an 8 point streak u gt 6 perks. ur classes perks and ur specialist perks then wen u die u lose ur specialist perks. there now u gt wot it is about

No the specialist gives u an extra perk every 2 kills then at 8 u get all of them just watch the video that was at Call of Duty XP. It shows the specialist having three perks then showing another three perks they unlock every 2 kills

Actually no. You still get your usual 3 perks. At 2 kills, you get your 4th selected perk. 5th perk at 4 kills, 6th perk at 6 kills, and all perks at 8 kills. Upon death, you lose any perks that were earned through kills (As in, you still get to keep the 3 perks you started off with in the first place).

You know it amazes me. Everytime there is new info put out there they explain it so anyone can understand. Yet people don’t. They always say theywant some sort of perk or they hope a cereal one comes back. Just read some perks aren’t there some are. You get what they give you, if you don’t like it get the f out.
And clarify yes you get every perk if you get eight kills.

It’s annoying that the Support Killstreaks don’t reset after you die. That means there will still be people camping, and not caring if they die because they can just go back to there little hiding spot and continue on with their killstreak. It’s just stupid!

What if you have specialist and get all eight kills, then go find a juggernaut package and equip it. Would you still have all your perks as a juggernaut? Imagine how unstoppable you would be if:
1. Your a skilled player
2. You got eight kills with specialist
3. Your a juggernaut
4. You have riot sheild and LMG.

According to Robert Bowling on Twitter, once any person in the game equips either of the Juggernaut point streak rewards, their entire loadout changes. That means that your perks are temporarily disabled, you cannot sprint, prone or jump. Also Assault Jug gets an LMG, no riot shield. Recon Jug gets a shield, and portable radar. I’m not sure, but I don’t think you can take off Jug until you die. I’m also not sure if you are running support or attack Strike Packages if you will continue your streak while in Jug.

the osprey gunner is like a chopper except it will also drop care packages for your team. it’s gonna be a right powerful killstreak that’s why you need 17 kills for it!

Its not overpowered, You need to get 12 points, before getting one of those killstreaks anyway, the people who will run with this class are the ones who die alot, which in turn are the ones who only ever reach about 10 kills in an entire game lol, just gives them a chance, the people who rack up the kills won’t use this class, because the assault strike package has WAY better killstreaks, in terms of attacking that is.

Not really.. I think i might run it but just have the top ones on. I will allways get 20-30 kills on average and with this pack it means i can be sure to get those streaks every game… Thats really powerfull. The real downside that i see to that pack is that you are limited to obtaining only 3 killstreaks in one game which means if you are wanting to be supportive like the pack is called you cant as having uav on will only let you get 1 in a game… Plz correct me if i am wrong.

No, you will continue to get your killstreaks reset once you reach the top one. So if you have a 10,12,18 streak set once you get the 18th kill it will reset back and at 28 kills you will get your 10th one again, even if you don’t use the first one you got. Depending on game mode you are pretty much locked since 30 kills will score limit you in FFA or TDM(depending on team members). GW, DOM, and KC on the other hand could be interesting.

Glad they incorporated that and kept it under wraps until released. It is balanced due to the fact it doesn’t end the match and it requires gun/equipment kills only. You can’t camp to get it, you will die before 25 if you don’t change positions. Since kill streaks don’t count towards obtaining it I think the specialist is the best strike package to use to trying to get the MOAB.

I have called in 2 MOABs in a single dom match, while playing demolition on dome, when we spawn trapped
before they patched it we called in 5 in one game. It was epic you could hear the other team scream no not another one. we went like 96-4 and they went like 7-134 I would’ve backed out if that were me. In total I have called in over 90 MOABs legit and still no title or emblem. 
They need to put one in.

I know the sam turret will add to ur killstreak tally using support. My question is does the recon drone add to ur tally through assists when using hardline pro? And does the remote turret or stealth bomber add to the killstreak tally in support?
