Here is some news that’s likely to surprize nobody… Modern Warfare 3 has broken the first-day sales record. While this may have been expected, the amount that it beat the previous record holder – Black Ops – by wasn’t foreseen.
Last year on release date, Black Ops sold a meagre 5.6 million copies in Britain and North America generating a paltry $360 million, breaking previous day-1 sales records. Earlier this week Modern Warfare 3 managed to shift 6.5 million copies and generated $400 million for publishers Activision in the UK and U.S on its opening day alone! By comparison, Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3′s closest rival that launched just over a week before, sold 5 million copies in its first seven days.
Week one sales numbers are likely to be just as impressive. Keep an eye on iModernWarfare3 for those figures in the coming days.

No. Not at all. Sales =/= quality. Everyone, even DICE, knew MW3 was going to kill it’s usual records. Only idiots think a game is good just because it’s sales were the best.

I agree, too bad this is a call of duty fan-base website.

There’s nothing wrong with liking one game over another, but it’s kinda dumb to think that sales alone determines a game’s qualities.

ok os if not sales numbers, how can we determine which one is better? so without being biased, which is a better game MW3 or BF3? if you ask me i’d say men lie women lie but numbers don’t

Well, according to Mark Twain there are three kinds of lies: lies, damn lies, and statistics. Also, by your logic Wii Sports is game of the generation.

First time tried BF3 hated it. But picked it up again and fell in love. But also love this game. Its hard to compare oranges and apples though, they are completely different experiences. Love the squad based gameplay, vehicles, and suppression fire points in BF3, and love the killstreak loadout, daily weekly challenges, elite contests, and spec ops in MW3. Both games have excellent bullet mechanics. When you get a kill in BF3, its exciting, cause it doesn’t happen every three seconds like in MW3.

Pengo makes a good point. But altogether BF3 has better team gameplay and much more strategy. A kill in MW3 is as easy as spray and prey. But it is easy for me to say as it is easy to keep my 2.7 KD on MW3. Whereas i struggle more on BF3. End Of really

both games are really nothing alike, but i’d say u cant really say much till u try competitive not just pub matchs. but Dice do well ill admit just CoD has alot more 12yr olds. both tactical to a set degree mw3 just consists of alot of slayers, which semi ruiners it for others, not really but changes the feel.
