Don’t Get Banned From Modern Warfare 3 [Code of Conduct]
Thought you couldn’t get banned from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3? Think again. There are a number of infringements that will get you (your Gamertag or console) banned from MW3! Boosting, cheating, glitching, hacking, offensive behaviour or an offensive Gamertag are all punishable via a number of means.
Break “the rules” and you could end up getting banned for anything from 48-hours to permanently, have your stats reset (everything wiped,) be banned from the leaderboards, or a mixture of the above.
Check out the Modern Warfare 3 ‘online code of conduct’ below to find out what the infractions are, and what you’ll get hit with should you get caught breaking the rules.
a. Boosting - Any player demonstrating ‘game abuse’ in the form of organizing cooperative or single game play for the purpose of gaining experience, prestige, score, weapon levels, icons, titles or other related in-game unlocks.
( i ) First Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 48 hours and a stats reset.
(ii) Second Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 48 hours and a stats reset, and a permanent ban from leaderboards.
(iii) Third Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 7 days and a stats reset, and a permanent ban from leaderboards.
b. Cheating - Any player demonstrating ‘game abuse’ in the form of unknown boosting, glitching, hacking or other related offenses for the purpose of gaining experience, prestige, score, weapon levels, icons, titles or other related in-game unlocks.
( i ) First Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 48 hours and a stats reset.
(ii) Second Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 48 hours and a stats reset, and a permanent ban from leaderboards.
(iii) Third Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 7 days and a stats reset, and a permanent ban from leaderboards.
c. Glitching - Any player demonstrating ‘game abuse’ in the form of organizing cooperative or single game play for the purpose of gaining experience, prestige, score, weapon levels, icons, titles or other related in-game unlocks. Examples: Exploiting map holes, the javelin glitch, and participating in modded lobbies
( i ) First Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 48 hours and a stats reset.
(ii) Second Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 48 hours and a stats reset, and a permanent ban from leaderboards.
(iii) Third Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 7 days and a stats reset, and a permanent ban from leaderboards.
d. Hacking - Any player demonstrating ‘game abuse’ in the form of modifying the executable or creating infected lobbies with or without the purpose of gaining experience, prestige, score, weapon levels, icons, titles or other related in-game unlocks.
( i ) First Offense: With proper verification, user is console banned.
e. Offensive Behaviour – Any player demonstrating in-game verbal abuse, harassing, or other related behaviour deemed as universally unacceptable to other players.
( i ) First Offense: With proper verification, user is banned for 24 hours.
f. Offensive Gamertag – Any player demonstrating an offensive in-game gamer tag, to be decided as universally unacceptable to other players.
( i ) First Offense: With proper verification, user is reputation banned 5000. A reputation ban that exceeds a certain threshold can lead to bans from playing.

Seems a bit overboard to me, I don’t do any of these (in fact I haven’t really played anything for a while
). But things like offensive gamer tag or verbal abuse just seems to be something that comes with a call of duty title. You kind of expect it.
And hacks and glitching should be PATCHED I reckon, instead of banning, possibly fixing these problems would be the best.
I do like the first, second and third offense though, gives the user a chance to stop, an will only block a user properly after a few offenses. Good idea and will help weed some people out as well.

The game is full of modded controller users, glitcher’s and boosters and day after day of reporting them and they always return. They can post all the rules and warning’s they want but they have to actually enforce them. I’m a 1st prestige and when I get my ass handed to me by a kid that is a first level 20 and nothing is ever done to him it tells me that no one is actually doing anything other than posting this stuff up just to satisfy us by letting us report the abusers that keep getting to play with their $250.00 modded controllers. It’s BS Play the game without cheating you little pricks.

You can’t say that someone on a lower rank than you is a modded or cheater because they kicked your ass. I’ve got prestige on all cods and I only started play mw3 in December and I was kicking ass on level 1!

Good, it is about time that they enforce stuff like this. I think it makes the game more enjoyable and less annoying for everyone, especially for the kids who like to over use language.

Sad thing is they cant really stop the kids and I’ve they could they wouldn’t as that would lead to a massive drop in sales. It’s the dumbass parents who should be stopping them, I hear 10 year olds swearing and saying some really nasty stuff and playing a violent game, I would let my kids play it, or even use the Internet!

No point in going for the M.O.A.B. seeing as you get no experience for getting it and you don’t get a title or an emblem. You will eventually get one if you always use the specialist kill-streaks like I do

So if you get a fair M.O.A.B. in a game, say FFA and someone thinks your a hacker or your a cheater and they report you, in the ingame reporting system. Do you get a 48 hour ban and your stats reset just from that one guy reporting you incorrectly?

iw dont care about this stuff, someone on my friends list is boosting a lot, hes done the prestige token glitch, i reported him for both offenses, just to see if they do anything like they said they do, and hes still there no derank, no ban, he had 24hrs of 2x xp, has every class unlocked at prestige 3, i dont care too much if he gets baned or not, i dont think he will cause iw talk a lot of bs when it comes to banning people who cheat

ALSO. The game IS labeled M for mature 17 and older. Online interactions however are not rated by ESRB and therefore it is up to the game’s code of conduct, which is in fact stated in the game itself, to set guidelines for any content not rated by ESRB.

So what you are saying is if I get killed off a little, cheating ,can’t play the game so I will camp, camper and I curse then I am the one getting banned and not the person who is sitting in a corner. IW should bring out a support package that works like a tactical nuke or M.O.A.B that makes a certain point of the map toxic for about a minute. If someone is sitting in the one spot then nuke it and they cant go back to that spot until the time is up.
Camping is another form of boosting.

If their “camping” (I thought this was a tactical game not Halo) go shoot them and root them out. PLAY BETTER! if you can’t get them out have one of your friends do it for you. Just a note: If your playing a defensive game like domination, it’s not camping it is called defending. Take the time to learn the maps and where people like to camp. Don’t keep running the same way thinking your going to get a different result the next time (flank them).

Found myself in a hacking lobby yesterday through no bloody fault of my own & now I find myself banned from MW3 for 48 hours & that when I do get back online I’ll more than likely have my stats reset.
Shove MW3 where the sun don’t shine as far as I’m concerned now as I ecrtainly won’t be starting over again & buying the extra maps as I have for all the previous versions of the game.
Surely shouldn’t the makers of the game be concentrating on trying to make hacking bulletproof rather than punishing the innocent gamers caught up in it all.

I am a business student at Kaplan university and I think PlayStation or call of duty should not ban customers because of their mistakes. The games was supposed to be tested before release, to make sure things like prestige token problems, and other things are fixed. In business the main people to keep satisfied are your customers( the people who spend their hard earned money to make you rich). Some video games violate many laws, like harassment, but I don’t care if people do that but it is getting to be unbearable. I don’t want to get out of control, but when my freedom in America is messed with, I will say something. Call of duty games have corrupted my kids in the U.S, and you ban people because of your mistakes. It goes to show that the poor excuse for video game creators, blame others for their mistakes. They need to go back to school and learn how to properly make video games.

I played hardcore team death match yesterday against a team that held down a house (campers). They had guys in the house and on both sides guarding it. I was able to sneak up on them, kill the guys on the outside and then get into the house. I did it about 5 times and even got the game winning killcam by shooting a guy in the head who was peeking over a wall next to the house.
After the game, the other team immediately accused me of cheating and they all reported me. This seems to happen a lot lately… if you are legitimately a good player, it’s automatically assumed you cheat and they report you.

I got banned for nothing I had a m.o.a.b. In a game an a openent on the enemy team reported me for boosting and I was banned and reset from 20th prestege level 80 I almost had all mw3 titles aswell I do agre that if you boost your stats should be reset but on your second offence to avouide this from happaning again
