August’s Modern Warfare 3 Content Drops For Xbox Elite Members Detailed, Dated

Michael Condrey, Sledgehammer Games’ VP and COO has confirmed, detailed and dated August’s three new Modern Warfare 3 content drops (drops 19-21) for premium Elite members on the Xbox 360. Arriving August 7th, drops 19-21 will be two Spec Ops missions: Light ‘Em Up and Special Delivery, plus the new Spec Ops ‘Chaos Mode’.

Light ‘Em Up, which was confirmed via a leak yesterday, is set on one of Modern Warfare 3′s single-player campaign levels and involves two SAS operatives breaching a compound to rescue a teammate.

“It’s a night mission, so you come in under the cover of night,” Condrey exclusively told VideoGamer.com. “One guy is piloting the Little Bird and protecting from an overwatch position with explosive cover, while the guy on the ground is looking for intel on where the hostage is in this heavily fortified location.”

“The guy in the air is a really exciting position to be in because you have to control the helicopter, use the spotlight and provide overwatch cover for the guy on the ground,” continued the Sledgehammer Games co-founder. ”It’s a pretty cool new experience in Spec Ops mission mode.”

The second content drop for August, Special Delivery, involves one player piloting the Osprey Gunner, raining hell from above, whilst dropping three types of Care Packages for your partner at the same time.

“What we’ve tried to do is bring really great mechanics together that people love to play,” began Condrey, explaining what Special Delivery is all about.

He continued, “The guy in the air runs the Osprey Gunner and can drop .50 cal shells from the air, and call in explosive rounds. But the cool thing is that I can drop three different types of Care Packages to my buddy on the ground trying to get to the downed pilot.

“It’s really awesome. You can drop in an XM25, you can drop a Care Package of a turret or a self-revive… The opportunity to use Care Packages and the Osprey Gunner killstreak from multiplayer is so much fun.”

The third drop for August is the new Spec Ops Chaos Mode:

Special Ops Chaos mode delivers the ultimate in arcade mayhem. Experience truly heart-pounding and adrenaline-fueled action while competing for high scores in Resistance, Village, Underground and Dome. Chain kills together against a never-ending onslaught of enemies to increase your combo multiplier and earn performance-enhancing perks. Light ‘Em Up, Special Delivery and Spec Ops Chaos Mode will be available for premium Elite on Xbox August 7th.
