Earlier today Activision announced Call of Duty Elite – the new CoD “Online service” that will launch alongside Modern Warfare 3 – with a trailer that outlines the free aspects of the upcoming service.
Call of Duty: Elite will significantly enhance the Call of Duty franchise’s multiplayer experience delivering a new level of social engagement to players worldwide. Detailed stat tracking, groups, clans, tournaments, events and a theater mode will be some of the free aspects of Elite, while the subscription-based aspects of the service and their prices are yet to be announced.
Once again, don’t fall off of your seat – most of what you see in the following trailer will all be FREE, along with everything else you’ve been used to in past Call of Duty games.
Watch all the way to the end for a peek at Modern Warfare 3.

I can confirm, Via Tweet from JD_2020 that COD Elite will only be Available for Black Ops, MW3 and beyond. It won’t go back to MW2 and before that.
